I thought I'd turn things upside down a bit and have a bad guy rescuing his friend from the good guys. In this scene, a bunch of Griffon Templars are exorcising a demon (a converted =][= Cherubael) and the Grande Crane comes to rescue him.

The bridge was made using molds from Hirst Arts and cast using Vatican Art Stone. The base was sculpted from Apoxy Sculpt.

The backside of the bridge. Wanted their to be a river running through the scene. The action is taking place on one shore and an island. The other shore is implied.

The rubble was created "in place ..." pliers are a wonderful thing. The water was painted with a mixture of Dark Prussian Blue and Black (thinned quite a bit) and then coated with two coats of Acrylic Gel Medium to give it the ripples and sheen.

I took the =][= Cherubael fig and added the demon prince wings (done this once before) and sculpted some flesh and muscles to hold it all in place. He was painted with very thin washes of red/brown inks and dark prussian blue to make his skin look bruised

The Grand Crane is an impressively large figure. 4" from base to tip of sword ... the brave Griffons will certainly meet a tragic end.

A close-up of Cherubael shows the holy documents and symbols that have been pinned through his skin. If you look closely, you can even see the Griffon symbols on the documents.
